When I was a kid my brother and I used to sit on the back stairs and listen to my parents talk about friends of theirs who were fighting or getting divorced, and I sort of wished my parents would fight so I could see what it was like. It seemed exciting.

The apple has fallen far from the tree, and I find myself in an adult experience where fights with romantic partners have been common and unpleasant. I am unable and unwilling at this time to detail in these pages my worst fights. I am only going to talk about a small fight. I hope you enjoy it as much as I thought I would enjoy hearing my parents fight when I was nine.
