Diversity is a fundamental strength for all structures - physical, emotional and political. The concentration of wealth and the ability to purchase political power thanks to Citizens United will end poorly for all of us. It’s just a matter of time.

Rural America believes highly educated, urban elites look down upon them, and yet I sense an unspoken, underlying envy of said elites. Trump’s crude, simple-minded approach to complex issues appeals to like-minded rural America even though they either do not understand or do not want to understand they benefit disproportionately from the largess of the Federal government. Rather than expend the time and effort to learn the facts they and those who would lead them take the easy path of tribalism…
