I sometimes wonder if the world is in the death throes of the patriarchy, as if all the worst of an unbalanced macho worldview is on display to its absolutely worst advantage so that we can all see it, clarify our values about it, and join together to put it out of its misery and usher in a new age and way of being that is firmly anchored in our deeply shared value of loving and helping our neighbors.
