I stopped writing prompts. I started writing loops.
Here are 21 loops you can run as a PM. No code.
A prompt hands you a first draft you still have to check. A loop keeps going (draft, check, fix) until it hits a bar you set. Then it stops.
PRODUCT AND DISCOVERY
A builder just declared "loops are dead," and the fight that followed talked past itself.
Three different things get called a loop. Only one is:
- Routine: fixed steps, every time.
- Workflow: branches on what it finds.
Boris Cherny, creator of Claude Code:
"I don't prompt Claude anymore. I have loops (...) prompting Claude and figuring what to do"
But the loop is the easy part. The work is the context and the stop condition: the check that ends it.
