Dec 30, 2025

Hey team, merry xmas and almost happy nys!

2026 is fast approaching and I can feel the new energy pulling me in. The lure of new beginnings and a fresh start - one that I normally don’t succumb to, but this time feels different. It could be delulu hope popping back up OR it could be the 1 energy for 2026 (alllll about that!) Either way, I can feel it. Can you?

2025 has been hard in so many ways (see more about our year here) and whilst I have learnt that there’s no way to predict what’s coming, or how things will shape up, I am going into 2026 with a rhythm - with foundations for alignment, for leisure, for cup filling and with aspirations of not burning out (again).

This time between Christmas and New Years is a weird limbo space. Especially with the added push and pull of conflicting energies. Obligations for social engagements, things on the calendar, celebrations - these all keep me pulled back into 2025, continuing to wait until there’s time and space for my mind to get ready to move into the new year. But time doesn’t wait for us to make space; it continues on, somehow speeding up each day, and in less than 48 hours it will be 2026.

And I won’t have a plan.

Lol.

Which, is utterly fine. But my autistic brain does love a plan, some semblance of having thought through what it is we want from our year. ‘ Start as you mean to go on,’ repeats in my head. If we walk into 2026 without any ideas, we’ll just keep doing the same thing.

And nothing changes if nothing changes, ya know?

So I’m sitting here, taking the moment I have and pondering:

I’ll share more on what’s formulated once I’ve processed it x

Supportive Practises

I want to write that I’m all for optimising, but the words don’t quite feel right. I don’t believe that life should be optimised for more productivity, for getting somewhere faster just to take on more.

But I am here for practises that optimise our capacity, our support, our time and space for us to relax, to rest, to create, to live.

The last couple of months have seen deep emotions coming through (a friend reminded me it’s the 9’s final cleanse lol - we laugh bc it’s like this tiktok except instead of blaming the moon, it’s the 9).

GETTING LOST IN A GOOD, EASY BOOK

Some of my favs this year have been:

CLOSING THE LOOPS VIA FINISHING PROJECTS

You know… the baby book I started 9 years ago but am severely behind in. Unfinished projects take up so much hidden mental space. They consume energy, sitting on your shoulder waiting until you have the time. And you know the time is not there, and it won’t be until we make it, yet it’s never the top of the list. This weird limbo new year time is perfect for closing some loops. I’ve created a piece of art from my kids drawings, finished up the homeschool books for the year, and have one final project I want to get done this summer (THEN I’ll tackle the baby books hahaha)

Something I keep noticing

There is a huge wave of creators, creatives, people moving towards the analog life - it could just be my algo, but it’s EVERYWHERE. Big names talking about the great unplugging and what that may look like for 2026. I love it, I’m 1000% here for it and have said for a while now that the 90s mum’s had something going on (just add in the EQ that we have now lol)

Collectively we appear to be craving more time offline - is it a mass nervous system cry to downshift? Is it the inner whisperings reminding us that actually, we are allowing life to completely pass by without us even noticing? 2 hours of scrolling a day is 2.5 entire days a month (no sleep in there, just 2.5 entire days of phone use). That’s 30 FULL days a year. A whole month a year, gone, into our phone.

As humans we appear to love a wild pendulum swing though - and as much as swinging off our phones may be beneficial, I do wonder if we’re missing a key component by jumping straight to the “we shouldn’t use our phones” rhetoric? Rather than examining our own behaviours as to why we are so deep in our phones for so much of the day? Either way though, I’m here for it - I have lots of analog plans coming as I redesign my life in 2026!

Would love to know what you’re thinking about it.
