Wow Megan, this is extremely powerful and such good conversations. My kids are still little so they are blessed to have the joy of an untethered childhood, but I do think about how they see me interacting with my phone/devices and I realize how big a job it is to model a healthy relationship with screens for them. I have not been doing it perfectly, but I’m trying to do better. I want my kids to know that my time with them is important and that they have my full attention without those outside distractions. I think I may need to go over these questions for myself!

So true…this really is a good set of questions to ask ourselves/one another at any age!

I love the ways you're engaging with young people to understand their lived experiences related to agency over their attention and use of technology. I'm looking forward to our chat when I return to Amherst. Meanwhile, will send you our qualitative research with young adults use of social media.
