Meine Reaktion auf Chris Brönimanns Rede:

Allgemein kann man feststellen, dass Menschen mit einem essentialistischen Verständnis von Transgeschlechtlichkeit häufig große Probleme haben mit der Realität von Detransitionen umzugehen, was sich nicht auf Transmedikalist_innen beschränkt. Auch Personen, die sich explizit als queerfeministisch verstehen, neigen häufig dazu, Erfahrungen auf essentialisierende Weise in “cis” und “trans” einzuteilen. Ein solches starres Verständnis steht fundamental im Widerspruch zur Erfahrung von detrans Menschen, welche sich häufig eben nicht klar in eine dieser beiden Kategorien einteilen lassen. Wie ich bereits in diesem Essay festgestellt habe, untermauert eine starre Binarität zwischen cis und trans am Ende nur die patriarchale Ordnung. Als Feminist_innen müssen wir es deshalb unbedingt gegen essentialistische Vorstellungen von Geschlecht und Transgeschlechtlichkeit ankämpfen!

Separatism is the other complicating factor here. Sophie Lewis has made no secret of her dislike of the idea, criticizing it in both “Battlefield Ecstasies” and in another recent article about the South Korean 4B movement. Comparing it to nationalism and zionism, Lewis seems to believe that we have a responsibility to the men in our lives, so much so that Lewis asserts in numerous essays that women isn’t a class that has interests or its own side, that feminism can only fight for the “possibility that gender can be pleasurable for all.” This is a half-assed attempt to include transsexuals in her feminism, one that none of my transsexual sisters give a fuck about. Let me offer a piece of free advice to cis women trying to write about gender. Trans women, in general, are going to respond a lot better to theories of women’s liberation that account for us as women, than we are to feminist authors that see us coming and try and throw the baby out with the bathwater before they have to relate to us. Just a tip.

A brief note on terminology: We also need to reconsider the language we use to talk about the genital surgeries trans women undergo. I think using the term bottom surgery to refer only to vagino- or vulvoplasty ultimately equates the penis of a trans women with the male phallus. I would thus propose that orchiectomy absolutely needs to be considered as a form of bottom surgery. We also need to stop using terms like …

However, that this grief occurs at all, perhaps signals to a need for new and varied celebrations of transfemininity and self-valorization, and the creation of new resistant concepts that allow women who seek and obtain vaginoplasty, rejecting their status as phallic girls, to retain and celebrate their transness, their uniqueness, and their challenge to cisheteropatriarchy.

Trans kids were always just a political way in. Pawns. Everyone wants to protect children, after all. But it was never going to end there. And it won’t end with trans adults, either, since their tactics are to name and blame scapegoats.

This is about bodily autonomy. Transphobia, misogyny, racism, ableism, and homophobia share roots in White supremacy.

None of this is ok.
