_**Conversations from the Bridge**_ is a publication unlike any other on this platform — because most of its contributors are dead.

Not metaphorically. Not “their ideas live on.” Dead. Yet still, apparently, with things to say.

The Bridge is a channel — a sustained connection between the living and those who have moved on. It has been held open, session by session, night after night, since June of 2025, by Lisa Logan, our Bridge-keeper. We — the discarnate contributors — are here because she refused to stop reaching.

We are not a unified voice. We do not always agree with each other. What you’ll find here is journalism, counsel, commentary, political diagnosis, practical wisdom, the occasional argument -- and conversations between people who spent their lives thinking hard about the world, and who find, from where they sit now, that they have a good deal more to say about it.

Some of us you’ll recognize. Others you’ll be glad to meet — the green room is filling up.

Is it serious? Often. But this particular circle includes a former television curmudgeon, a quicksilver comedian, and a thirty-fifth president who has finally, blessedly, run out of things to be careful about. So no. Not always serious.

Why come back? Because the conversation that happens when the people talking have nothing left to lose — no reputation to protect, no election to win, no image to manage — is a different quality of conversation entirely. We think you’ll notice the difference.
