BOTH AND. Stop Choosing, Start Designing.

People kept asking if I had good support.

I had to stop calling it that.

Support sounds passive. Something that catches you when you fall. What I actually needed was infrastructure - active, designed, deliberate. The kindergarten open 7 to 7. The friends who chose to show up, on a schedule, not just when it felt natural. The job that said: reshape your hours around your actual life.

None of that just happened. Someone (me, them, someone) had to build it.

Mothers don't lack support. We lack infrastructure.

8:30pm. Podcast recording. My bedroom, because that's where I can both record and hear my son cry if he wakes up.

Halfway through, the door opens.

My son. In his sleeping bag. The full penguin shuffle.

I didn't pause the recording. I picked him up, put him next to me on the bed, and kept going.

There are seasons you build toward. And there are seasons that just happen to you.

I was in Building. Everything had momentum. Then within three days, all four layers of my framework shifted at once.

No one talks about this part. The framework books assume you have some say in when you transition. Sometimes you do. And sometimes February 28 happens and you are in Dubai and you wake up in Integrating whether you were ready or not.

The Both And version of this: you don't have to love the season you're in, you just have to understand it.

Three months ago, I thought I'd lost my ambition.

I hadn't. It was frozen.

There's a difference. Lost means gone. Frozen means the drive is still there — the infrastructure holding it in place just collapsed.

36% of mothers in our Wave 2 research said the same thing. Not "I stopped caring." More like: I care deeply, and I have nowhere to put it right now.

This is both the hardest thing to sit with and the most important thing to understand. Because if you think it's gone, you try to rebuild from scratch.

And the same if you don’t define what your ambition looks like.

Maybe the next status symbol isn’t a 6-figure business. Maybe it’s waking up excited about your day. Having enough time. Enough energy. Enough peace. And a business that supports all of it.

Mom fail week.

Washing the school uniform at 5.30am yesterday. Forgot the snack box this morning. Pretty sure there was a third thing but I’ve already blocked it out.

I’m calling it resilience training. (Mostly for myself. He’ll be fine.)

And now — 15 minutes. Just me, breakfast, a podcast. Before the school run chaos becomes work chaos becomes dinner chaos.

I didn’t plan it. I just sat down and didn’t open my laptop for once.

Turns out that’s also a decision.

Both And doesn’t always look like having it all together.
