Days are long, nights are short, and you can sleep out under the Stars if you like. Everything you could possibly wish for is in reach. You can pluck fruit from the trees, pull vegetables out of the soil, or hook a fish while lazily dozing on the riverbank. Summertime is when the living is easy because Mother Nature is here to provide and like an infant suckling at the breast, you can nestle peacefully in the knowledge that you are well cared for. Now you might laugh out loud and say “I wish!” but this dream of abundance is encoded into the very essence of the season. In fact, you’re so enthralled by this idyll that even if you know it’s not true, that won’t stop you from striving to make it true for those you love and care about. This is the way life should be and with benevolent Jupiter winding up its yearlong stay in Cancer, the zodiac sign of its exaltation, you will endeavor to make it happen. ### ARIES (March 20 - April 18) You need to be there more for loved ones. You probably feel like you’re always there for them, but that’s not true. Doing things for them and being present in their lives are two separate ideas. This is something that will become increasingly pertinent as the Sun travels through the zodiac sign of Cancer over the next four weeks. At first you’ll feel hurt by their ingratitude, but there’s a reason for their dissatisfaction. They feel like an obligation and not like the people you want to spend time with. Take this opportunity to turn that around. The hearth you save may be your own. ### TAURUS (April 19 - May 19) You’ll want to keep your friends close and your enemies closer when Ruling Planet Venus forms an opposition to Pluto on June 17th. This introduces a dilemma that will test everyone’s mettle. You won’t know who to trust at first and to make matters worse – the people you trust won’t know who to trust either. Yet what emerges as a result of all this will be a clear sense of who’s in your corner and who isn’t. This will allow you to separate the fair weather friends from the true blue ones and perhaps even see an old rival in a new and more favorable light. ### GEMINI (May 20 - June 20) Venus sextile Uranus on June 15th introduces a mentor, coach, or teacher into your orbit. Many of us don’t recognize the potential we carry inside which is why it’s always exciting to meet someone who does. This shows all the signs of an exciting and creative collaboration if you’re willing to put in the time and energy. You won’t see immediate results, but the plus side to Venus forming a trine to Saturn on June 25th is that it brings longevity and sustained effort. Keep these two things in mind and you’ll accomplish more under this person’s tutelage than you ever would have imagined possible. ### CANCER (June 21 - July 21) You’re a natural born giver. In the debate over nurture versus nature, nurture will always win out with you. You can’t help being there for loved ones when you’re a Child of the Moon; but that said, nowhere is it written that you have to be anyone’s doormat. There’s a limit to your Giving Tree and if you don’t want to wind up becoming a stump, then you might want to draw the line now. It’s hard saying no to a loved one’s requests but sometimes this teaches this person – better than anything you can do – to rely on themselves instead of always depending on you. ### LEO (July 22 - Aug. 21) Venus rules over the power of attraction in Astrology and now that she’s traveling through your zodiac sign you can expect to draw a lot of attention. Unfortunately Venus’s opposition to Pluto on June 17th also means that you’ll be drawing some ire as well. It could be jealousy, possessiveness, or sour grapes. Venus rules mirrors and everything is seen through a glass darkly when Pluto is involved. The best way to get through this treacherous time is to avoid mind games and emotional manipulation. Be straightforward in everything that you say and do and you will have no worries. Skies clear after June 25th. ### VIRGO (Aug. 22 - Sept. 21) You were born under the zodiac sign of work and service. You are hardwired to help loved ones without a second thought. This is fine if they’re respectful, but not so great if they assume you’ll just drop what you’re doing and race to their rescue. This can turn into a form of dependency where they don’t even try to solve a problem, but simply pass it on to you. Bring this to an end on June 17th by teaching them to stand on their own two feet. They won’t love you any less as a result. If anything, they’ll appreciate you all the more. ### LIBRA (Sept. 22 - Oct. 22) Perhaps the most vexing thing going on in your relationship right now is that you and your partner both feel like you’re each making all the sacrifices and that those sacrifices are in vain. This echoing of one another can become infuriating when it comes to trying to get your message across because it feels like they’re coopting what you’re saying in order to use your words against you. In truth you’re both right and you’re both wrong, but finding a way to reconnect won’t be easy. It will require a willingness on both sides to suspend disbelief and to listen with fresh ears. ### SCORPIO (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21) You don’t mind being told you can look but not touch because you know that whatever you want will be yours given time. This is why people accuse Scorpios of being scheming, manipulative, and even possessing hypnotic powers. They badmouth you because they’re jealous of the way you always wind up getting the prize. What they don’t understand is that you’re an expert at the waiting game. You also happen to have a deep understanding of human psychology. Lurk long enough and the price will come down, circumstances will change, or the person who said that they would never leave their loveless relationship for you, will. ### SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 - Dec. 20) It looks like you’re sitting on an opportunity that you can’t do anything with. It’s frustrating, but it’s also pretty clear that it would only go to waste in your hands. That said, this opportunity (maybe it’s an offer, a contact, or even someone you’re dating who you know you’re not that into) could really transform somebody else’s life for the better. So do you part with it? Will there be regrets? That’s the question you’ll face on June 17th when Venus opposes Pluto. It won’t be easy giving something up, but you already know that it’s the right thing to do in the end. ### CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 - Jan. 18) You keep telling yourself that you’ll stop and smell the roses one day, but that day keeps getting put off because of work demands. The Sun entering Cancer on June 21st says that it’s time for you to slow down and relax. You need to spend some quality time with the things in your life that make you happy – like your lover, friends, and various and sundry household pets. What’s the point of slaving away like you do if you never allow yourself the opportunity to enjoy the company of those that matter most? Remember: all work and no play makes Capricorn a dull goat. ### AQUARIUS (Jan. 19 - Feb. 17) You knew that if you were patient then a certain someone would see the error of their ways and come looking to make amends. One of the wonderful things about your zodiac sign is the way you’ll keep the door open long after others have walked out in a huff. It may take a few days (or months) but you’re always ready to welcome them back. And this doesn’t come from knowing you’re right, it comes from the faith you have in people which is often more than the faith they have in themselves. In any case the long wait is over on June 25th. ### PISCES (Feb. 18 - March 19) “Soul mate” is a tricky term because technically speaking it’s not a one-on-one exclusive. By definition souls transcend bodies which means that your soul could potentially mate with just about anyone’s on the planet. It’s our bodies that are bound to each other through our attractions, wants, and needs – not our souls. Now this may sound like metaphysical hair-splitting, but it explains why you keep searching without really finding. Universal experiences don’t really lend themselves to intimate relationships. Try being less out-of-body in your approach and more down-to-earth during the time that the Sun is in Cancer and you may discover what you’re looking for.
