I’m currently translating my first book, Continuer, into English. Writing in another language is both a challenge and a pleasure.

I had cancer when I was 11. Recently at 26, I wrote a book about that time and the reconstruction that followed. Here I write about life, movement and memories.

Looking Toward the Future

This article is part of the “Healing in Two Voices” series developed within the e-QuoL project, which brings together survivor voices and professional reflections on life after childhood and adolescent cancer.

I finally have time but it still doesn’t feel enough

Lately, I’ve been trying to improve my attention.

I was peacefully riding my bike

with my girlfriend when a driver suddenly came from the opposite side of the road at full speed.

I was honestly really close to getting hit.

The driver stopped, apologized, left… then came back one minute later just to apologize again and tell me he was sorry. He said he normally doesn’t drive like that but today he had completely lost it.

I didn’t really know whether to forgive him or not.

Yesterday night, I had what felt like a really good idea for a note.

But I had already started falling asleep…

So now I completely forgot it.

Attention has become one of the rarest and most valuable things today.

I’m really bad at speaking fluently and without a huge French accent.

But that’s exactly why I’m going to start making podcast versions of my articles.

My next article will be about this.

Making podcasts with my current level of English might be one of the most interesting ideas I’ve had in a while ahah

I’m thinking about making audio versions of my articles.

The problem is… my spoken English is still pretty bad 😅

But that’s exactly why I should do it, to practice and improve.

I’m hesitating between posting them publicly or just training on my own first.
