June 23 - Reading another old script today. This one went into turnaround at a studio in 2022. Considering re-writing it so that it can be made at an indie budget. Sometime soon, I’m beginning work on a new script, but for now I’m finding it worthwhile and interesting to revisit projects.
June 22 - I finished a draft last week, and today I’m taking the day to get away from it before I read it. The anticipation of reading my own writing brings a lot of anxiety.
June 12 - "In order to write about life first you must live it.” - Ernest Hemingway. This advice emphasizes the struggle of balancing writing with real life.
June 11 - Directing Ibiza. Shot on panoramic film by Danny Moder.
June 10 - Writing process insights: I write by hand initially, then type out my work. This transition often leads to procrastination.
June 9 - Revisiting older works helps me reflect on my growth as a writer.
June 5 - Watching films is essential to making them. Today I’m rewatching David Fincher’s The Game, an all-time favorite.
June 4 - On the importance of snacks: “Carbs are essential for writing.”
