Hey everyone, Adam Bigelsen here. I had to jump on and make a video after a friend sent me a clip that’s been circulating online — one of those viral ones with tens of thousands of likes and shares — showing someone claiming that emotions like love, sadness, and fear visibly change the structure of red blood cells using live blood analysis. Sounds exciting, right? Except... it's not science. It’s another example of well-meaning misinformation spreading like wildfire, and I had to call it out.

First off, let me be clear: what she’s doing is not what we do. She’s using dark field microscopy, aka nutritional microscopy or live blood analysis, which is not the Bigelsen Method. The images might look similar, but the interpretation, philosophy, and depth of understanding are worlds apart. She’s associating emotional states with changes in the blood, but she has no understanding of how blood behaves on a slide, what the edge of the sample means, or the natural life cycle of red blood cells. Saying that sadness makes your cells take teardrop shapes or love creates heart-shaped cells is not just bad science—it’s misleading and dangerous.

I do believe that emotions affect the body — no question. We've seen emotional imprints show up in the blood, but it doesn’t look like what she’s showing, and it’s not based on single samples or wishful thinking. Real science requires patterns, replication, multiple samples, and control. One drop of blood from one person is not an experiment. It's a story, and unfortunately, it's one that people are buying into without asking critical questions. This kind of misinformation is exactly what gives the field of microscopy a bad name and makes it harder for those of us doing careful, methodical work.

So here’s my ask: think critically. If someone hasn’t tested their findings over and over with consistency, don’t just share it. Ask questions. Look for patterns. I know it’s tempting to believe in magic bullet moments — but good science, especially in terrain-based work, is about depth, patience, and discernment. I’ll be doing a follow-up video showing some real examples so you can see what I’m talking about. Until then, keep your filters strong and your blood analysis smarter.
