the girl who saved my life  
smiles down at traffic  
on interstate 81  
she cowers in the closet  
when I offer her  
a glass of water  
she throws a soccer cleat  
across the room  
and hits me so hard  
my eye is swollen shut  
for a week  
even in death  
the world can’t stop  
raping her  
Hank God her book’s title  
is in the corner  
gotta recoup the cost  
of that billboard somehow  
her entire life reduced  
to a PSA  
why not dig up  
her ashes  
and snort them  
at least  
she’d find  
that funny  
“you’re the only man  
I don’t find disgusting”  
she whimpers  
between thrusts  
“take your fucking medicine”  
she sneers  
smacking my shoulder  
if i try to stand up  
she lit herself on fire  
to keep me from sweating  
the deadliest drug  
is affect  
I’m the reason  
she ended up  
with a feeding tube  
down her throat  
at Four Winds  
I’m to blame  
for the description  
of her vagina  
on Kiwi Farms  
and yet  
when I finally visit her grave  
the first thing  
I’m going to say is  
I’m sorry you had to witness  
that cringe
